Our History
Eric Kornacki and Joseph Teipel founded Revision International in 2007 to address the threatening challenges presented by global climate change, resource depletion, and extreme poverty. Friends in college at the University of Denver, both had traveled to developing parts of the world and experienced extreme levels of poverty and inequality, and befriended people that, despite fewer material possessions and a high vulnerability to global pressures, were rich in spirit and compassion. Eric and Joseph, inspired by a driving passion to change the world and be among the people, decided to cycle from Alaska to Argentina in order to raise awareness about these issues, and develop a grassroots movement of sustainability projects and reforms.

The project was called the Revolution Campaign, and in every sense of the word, it was bold and ambitious. For nearly 12 months they planned and prepared, training for the physical rigors, raising money by selling t-shirts and soliciting family and friends, and planning for an 18 month, 18,000 mile journey. Nearly 8 weeks before their departure, they decided to cancel the trip due to insufficient sponsorship and program development.

Although the two were disappointed in the failed attempt to launch the Revolution Campaign, their spirits were lifted by receiving their 501(c)(3) status from the IRS shortly after. A new chapter in the Revision International saga had begun. Along with an impressive Board of Directors, the organization turned its focus to Denver, and set out to implement the original vision of the organization: to be at the forefront of the sustainability movement.
